On Thursday, hundreds of people marched peacefully through the streets of the Afghan capital, Kabul, demanding the immediate withdrawal of international military forces. That leaves many military experts and civilians wondering how long the U.S. will remain there.
CBS News Military analyst Jeff McCausland told WJBC’s Beth Whisman he expects the U.S. to maintain some kind of military presence after 2014 to maintain stability for the new democratic government in Afghanistan. However, he said the public’s frustration and impatience with our progress there are understandable and justified.
