Last week I asked you where you were on Monday, August 30th.
This week we are coming upon the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
Do you remember where you were on September 11th, 2001.
Tanya recently sat down with our friend Tom McMillan for a video interview about this sad, somber, and historic day. Tom is the author of Flight 93, The Story, the Aftermath, and the Legacy of American Courage on 9/11.
Tom's book is a narrative based on interviews, oral histories, transcripts, recordings, personal tours of the crash site, and voluminous trial evidence made public only a few years after 9/11.
What I find so captivating about Flight 93 is how a group of 40 people came together for a united cause in only a few short minutes.
The unlikely leaders that emerged, seemingly out of nowhere, to do the unthinkable - during and after the tragedy.
To me this book is an important reminder of our shared humanity, our ability to persevere through the hardest moments of life, and why we must remember the past, to prepare for the future.
In this interview Tanya talks with Tom about significant unlikely leaders, inspiring moments, and hard decisions.
Each person and story they discuss serves as an important reminders to each one of us.
No matter who you are or where you are, you are a leader.
Empathy is essential and small actions make a big impact.
And, we need each other to accomplish great things - now more than ever.
The interview is broken down into 4 parts. I hope you find their conversation as insightful as I did.
